Welcome to the Official Shade Tree Okie Website
for convenience sake every time you see STO obviously that means shade tree Okie….
By nature a Shade Tree Anything tends to want to tweak something a bit more, always kinda feeling it not quite done yet. A STO feels this little edit here or there will do the trick. A totally finished product is not the possession of anything in a STO’s life. Including this blog so expect a few changes here and there as long as I’m still here or there.

This is me. Started being amazed by sling shots (also know as bean flips) to being curious about everything including how best to build and present this STO website for your consumption or taste or not!
So many stores to tell.
Why call my story the ‘Shade Tree Okie’?
I grew up in the sticks of Oklahoma. And I mean the sticks… way way back in the hills, creeks and so-called red neck country of Oklahome. Specifically Okfuskee County Okla.

I often sought out shade trees and spent a lot of time under one, getting out of work, resting from work, day dreaming, talking and planning life. Becoming a shade tree chameleon.
Living in those parts of Oklahoma is a lizard very similar to a chameleon and it’s called the American chameleon or false chameleon. they are native to the forest shrubs and backyards of southeastern Oklahoma. They’re not really chameleons they just mimic chameleons. They can independently move their eyes and change color from bright green dark brown depending on their temperature, health, or meed. they are not actually related to true chameleons.
After I left Oklahoma everybody, because they appeared so different than what I knew back in Oklahoma, fascinated me! I wanted to know more about them I even wanted to be like them at times .., people and culture fascinated me then and still do but I feel my biggest success, probably the most rewarding, was my becoming a shade tree black, brown or whateveer! A whatever that closely resembled the shade tree’s cultivated in the soil and by the cultures i was privileged to stand on, with and for. To dive in so deep that i could feel what it was like to be a semblance to who i was with when i was with with them.
That’s why calling my last story ‘The Shade Tree Okie’ fits so well.
To write a biography you gotta be for yourself but if you call everything you are and Shade Tree just that you’re really not bragging..
To some degree or another, during certain point in my life I was or became a ShadeTree Okie.
Loosely speaking there was times that I morphed into some of the shade tree items listed below in a somewhat dark and unusual way, but not always, most of what I did or accomplished doing them and becoming them was fun and helped form and developed who I am, as a person today…
On many of the items below I no longer identify or barely even resemble those labels.

“But before I became all that I was just a kid in Oklahoma learning how to live life on my terms and my greatest accomplishment to all I’ve ever done is my being a shade tree music lover… calling myself a shadetree anything is not cause i wanted to fix things, I didn’t, I just wanted to experience it)
Some would say (and rightly so) why not just be myself? Actually I’m mainly an unstable shadetreeokie meaning i’m always myself. Often I’ll look at the situation I’ve gotten myself in and go how the world did i get here and that question ‘how in the world did I get here’ is common for unstable-ShadeTreeOkie or for that matter a ‘Shade Tree Anything’.
